It has now been officially declared by Vodafone Australia that it will be the country’s very first mobile service provider to sell the much sought-after Apple’s iPhone. This news comes just a week after it was strongly rumored that it would be Optus that would provide the Apple iPhone. The Vodafone Company reports that it has entered into a deal with Apple to sell the iPhone in 10 of its markets across the globe.
Australia, thus, now joins a long list of Vodafone markets comprising names like the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey, where the iPhone will be sold to be used on the Vodafone network. Vodafone Australia CEO, Russell Hewitt said he is very pleased with the development, but refrained from divulging the official launch date.
Russell Hewitt has said that the Apple iPhone will prove to be an ideal addition to Vodafone Australia’s mobile handset range. The CEO Russell Hewitt remarked that the introduction of the iPhone in Australia nicely coincided with the company’s plan to provide an improved mobile internet and entertainment experience to users.
