Vodafone is going to launch the Samsung Galaxy S 16GB mobile phone in the United Kingdom that is touted to be a strong rival of Apple’s iPhone 4.

Samsung Galaxy S has a 4-inch super-AMOLED screen and 1GHz processor. It runs the Android 2.1 operating system and comes with hordes of features such as a 5MP camera that can record High Definition videos, 16GB memory with an option to expand up to 32GB, GPS, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.

More to it, the smartphone bears Samsung's mobile Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe).

Vodafone has started some offers including free smartphone on a two-year contract, with monthly subscription fee of £25 per month with 100 free minutes, 500 free texts and 1GB mobile internet allowance. There is also another plan where the users can get 900 free minutes and unlimited SMSs in addition to the usual 1GB data download limit for a cost of £35 per month.
