Vodafone, which happens to be the world’s biggest mobile phone company in terms of revenue, has clinched its first deal to sell Apple Inc's iPhone. This development came about after this UK-based company lost out to Telefonica's O2 for selling it in Britain. The Apple iPhone is a touch-screen device that offers the much popular iPod music player, a video player and Web browser. Of late, the Vodafone Company had been fighting off operators as well as retailers in order to secure the right to sell the iPhone. It is now learnt that Vodafone will market the Apple iPhone in 10 countries.
O2 remarked that the Apple iPhone is a brilliantly performing device that has been increasingly pulling customers to its stores. The main features in the Apple iPhone that has been luring operators is the fact that its users have upped the data revenues by Internet surfing and sending emails. This inturn lowers the cost of making calls. Commenting on the latest development, the Vodafone Company
announced that its customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will be able to buy the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network later this year.
