Russian President Vladimir Putin, it is being speculated is all set to marry young Russian Olympic gymnast Alina Kabaeva who happens to be less than half the age of Mr. Putin. The Russian President is reported to have split with his wife Ludmilla and is set to walk the aisle with Ms Kabaeva. The beautiful 24 year old gymnast under Mr. Putin’s patronage has become a deputy in the ‘Duma’ – Russia’s lower Parliament. 

 

Alina Kabaeva has the honor of representing Russia at both the Sydney and Athens Olympic Games. Born in 1983 in Tashkent, the gymnast has also appeared in an action film and posed for some semi-nude sensational pictures as a model. A report in the Russian newspaper ‘Moskovski Korrespondent’ claimed that the couple are set to become man and wife in mid June, after Putin steps down as the Russian President.

 

The 56 year old former KGB spy has however not officially announced the split with his wife Ludmilla. The two are reported to have got secretly filed for a divorce two months ago. Meanwhile, Mr. Putin’s latest love interest won gold medals at a young age of 15 at the European Championship. Ever since the European championships, Alina became a global darling of the elegant Gymnastic sport. At the 2004 Athens Olympics she won the All-round rhythmic gold medal.
