Indian chess grandmaster, Viswanathan Anand now has another honour bestowed upon him. On Thursday 8 May, he was presented the prestigious Chess Oscar award for the year 2007. With this, this 38 year old has become the first non-Russian as well as non-Soviet Union chess player to bag this award five times.
The year 2007 has surely proved to be a lucky one for the career of Indian chess player Viswanathan Anand. Apart from emerging victorious in a slew of chess tournaments, Anand also became the World No. one and the undisputed World Champion. The Oscar is much coveted award in chess presented by Russian chess magazine '64'. Anand has bagged the same award earlier too in 1997, 1998, 2003 and 2004.
