Injured Indian openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir are doubtful for the fourth One-day International (ODI) match against Australia on Monday.

Dinesh Karthik will be joining the Indian team here as cover.

Both the players were injured during the third ODI at Ferozeshah Kotla Saturday that India won by six wickets.

Gambhir was struck on the neck by a Ponting pull and left the field in the first session. He came back to bat.

Sehwag was hit on his left foot by a Peter Siddle yorker and had to receive medical treatment on the field.

A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) statement said a decision on the availability of both the players would be taken Monday morning.

"A final decision on their availability for the fourth match will be taken on the morning of the game."

India are leading the seven-match series 2-1.
