With reports regarding the race of Maharashtra SM becoming rife, Union Minister Vilasrao who met with Congress President Sonia Gandhi mentioned that he was not in the race for the post.
"No question of it. I am a minister at the Centre," Deshmukh said when asked if he had any intentions to hold the post of the Chief Minister Of Maharashtra.
He said that the party's Central leadership and MLAs will decide the issue of leadership in the state. When asked about his meeting with Sonia Gandhi, he mentioned that it was visit meant for congratulating the leader on the victory.
Mumbai Congress chief Kripashankar Singh, who also met Gandhi separately, made a similar statement regarding his meeting with the Congress president.
"Thank You," he said when he was asked about the same.
