The closing ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics on August 24 will be a proud moment for boxer Vijender Kumar as he has been selected to be the bearer of the Indian tricolour. The Olympic closing ceremony will be held at the Birds Nest Stadium on Sunday.   

Vijender Kumar gave India its first Olympic boxing bronze this year in the 75 kg category event. He is also the third Indian to win a medal at the Beijing Games. Indian Shooter Abhinav Bindra bagged gold in the 10 m air rifle category, whereas wrestler Sushil Kumar bagged a bronze.
