The crown for the winner of the 2008 Miss Universe contest has been created by a line from Vietnamese jewelry company Phu Nhuan Jewelry (PNJ), CAO Fine Jewelry. Worth $120,000, this crown will be presented to this year’s winner of the Miss Universe contest that is being convened at Vietnam on July 13. This beautiful jewelry piece happens to be the joint effort of Rosalina Tran Lydster of Jewelry by Rosalina and Dang Thu Kim Lien of Fine Jewelry.  

The 2008 Miss Universe Crown is made out of 18 karat white and yellow gold. Apart from this, more than 1,000 precious stones and gems including 555 white diamonds (30 carats total), 375 cognac diamonds (14 carats), 10 smoky quartz crystals (20 carats) and 19 morganite gemstones (60 carats) have been used for embellishment purpose. Even the color of the crown carries special significance. The yellowish shine of the gold represents the thriving economy of Vietnam, whereas the white, light pink and cognac stand for inspiration and feeling.

Plus, every piece of the 2008 Miss Universe Crown’s design signifies a vital characteristic of the mega event. For instance, the curve of inlaid precious stones symbolizes robust development and potential of each participating nation. Similarly, the Lac Bird stands for Vietnamese spirit and culture. The one who wins the pageant will also be awarded with a tiara from Fine Jewelry worth $ 30,000.
