Director Samir Karnik is happy with the response that his latest flick Yamla Pagla Deewana has received but the filmmaker admits that he was very upset when he was not able to find a role for his lucky mascot Vatsal Seth in the blockbuster.

And soon some miracle happened; Seth’s much delayed flick Hostel’s trailer was attached with the movie eventually leaving the filmmaker relieved.

Karnik quoted, "Vatsal is not a big star yet. But he`s my lucky mascot. I`ve cast him in all my films so far. When I could find no role for him in `Yamla Pagla Deewana`, I was heartbroken. I felt something to be amiss. I thought I`d have to live with that regret. But something strange happened.”

"When I heard the trailer of Vatsal`s film was being attached to `Yamla Pagla Deewana`, I felt it was almost fate`s intervention. Think about it. `Hostel` is a film that could`ve come any time. But it came around and was fixed for a time when its trailer could be attached to my film. So finally, there is Vatsal in `Yamla Pagla Deewana` in an indirect way. I think the two of us have a karmic connection or shall I say, Karnik connection?"

The duo has worked together in Nanhe Jaisalmer and Heroes.

Karnik also revealed that he has decided to cast Vatsal in Yamla Pagla Deewana sequel.
