Dan Brown is in news again. Vatican has denied request for shooting of a movie based on the novel of Dan Browns’ ‘Angles and Demons.’ According to reports, the novel is prequel of bestseller ‘The Da Vinci Code’ which had come in controversy for raising issue relating to Christ’s marriage. The request was made from the makers of the film to use Vatican to shoot the film.
Arguably, Father Marco Fibbi in an interview in London said that usually the script is read but in this case it wasn't necessary, and just the name Dan Brown was enough. Also, according to Father Marco ‘Angels and Demons' is book where fantasy has been used to damage Christian religious beliefs. He equalized ‘Angles and Demons’ with The Da Vinci Code.
Dan Brown had received the wrath of Vatican Church for his writing on the sensitive issue of Jesus marrying Mary Magdalene. And, there was no hope since beginning, of getting permission from maker’s side. Interestingly, Tom Hank has again been taken in the film and he will do the role of Robert Langdon. Akiva Goldsman has written the story of the film.
