Valeriy Borchin of Russia claimed the gold medal after finishing in the fastest time in the Men’s 20km Walk at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. He completed the walk in a time of 1 hour 19:01 minutes, 0.14 second ahead of Ecuador’s Jefferson Perez. At the beginning, the Russian lad was lagging behind which he confirmed was not his strategy.
While Jefferson won the silver medal, Jared Tallent of Australia secured the bronze medal after finishing in a time of 1 hour 19:42 minutes. Wang Hao of China placed fourth in a personal best time of 1 hour 19:47 minutes. However, Ivano Brugnetti of Italy came in fifth with a time of 1 hour 19:51 minutes.
