The Indian intelligence report about the likelihood of yet another terror strike has made the US authorities warn the citizens on travel to India. The intelligence report came two days after the release of Hafiz Saeed, the suspect behind the Mumbai terror attacks.

The American authorities are taking this report quite seriously and have issued a travel advisory. India will try to persuade the US to withdraw the advisory. Home Minster, P Chidambaram, said India is a safe country and such fears were uncalled for.

The advisory asks the Americans to be careful during their travel or stay in India and maintain a low profile while visiting public places.  Americans have been advised to keep tabs on local news reports and to gauge the level of security while visiting public places like restaurants or religious places. They have also been advised to keep their travel documents up-to-date in case the need arises for them to leave India within a short notice.

The American state department website says India has a great threat from terrorism. Terrorism, being a serious threat, the United States Mission in India has urged the American citizens residing in or travelling to India to be highly aware of the situation and maintain a low profile. The website also asks the people to change the routes and timings in carrying out routine activities.
