In a landmark decision a court in US has punished Beth Ann Chester, a teacher for statutory sexual assault, criminal use of a cell phone, and corruption of a minor. Chester, a 27 year old gym teacher had committed a crime of having sex with a 14-year-old and had sent him erotic text messages. She has been punished with three years in prison.

 

However, defense attorney Robert DelGreco Jr pleaded that the major reason behind Chester's deviant behavior has been her troubled marriage which subsequently led her to become closer to her students than she should have been. Reacting on her punishment Chester said she knew her punishment and she deserved the same.

 

Earlier, she was arrested in early January after she confessed to having sex with the boy. Later on the teenager's family wanted to settle for a sentence less than prison but she could not stop herself and again had tried to contact with the boy. And, this was the point where judge took hard stance and punished her with three years imprisonment.
