US, while citing that India and China are two vital powers of the Asia Pacific region, has said that it considers both the nations as partners for tackling the regional as well as global issues.
“As you look at the Asia Pacific region, two significant powers in the region, with China on the one hand, India on the other hand, the President and the Secretary will be deeply engaged in discussions in the region,” said P J Crowley, the Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affair, while addressing the media.
“They (US President Barack Obama and the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton) will have discussions with the Chinese leaders,” said Crowley. He also mentioned that Obama and Hillary Clinton are eagerly waiting for the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the US, which is slated for Nov 24.
“It reflects the importance that we attach to both countries not only in terms of regional issues, but also on global issues,” he said.
He also said that India and China as two emerging world powers “and that’s why we have focused a great energy and attention on developing strong relationships with both’.
