US President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev have confirmed that that the will be implementing the new nuclear disarmament programme by end of this calendar year.
According to sources, the talks which were held over the phone, have confirmed that the agreement will take by Dec 5, when the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty will expire.
Both sides are reportedly satisfied with the progress of the "intensive dialogue" by experts in negotiations. Nonetheless, more negotiations are needed.
Obama also praised Russia for its "constructive" work in ongoing international negotiations on limiting Iran's nuclear programme.
