The former White House Chief of Staff, Leon Panetta has been appointed as head of the US Central Intelligence Agency by the Barack Obama administration. Apart from it, the US President-elect has also inducted retired admiral Dennis Blair as the director of the National Intelligence. A former leader of the National Counter-terrorism Center, John Brenna became the Homeland Security Adviser and Deputy National Security Adviser for Counter-terrorism Serving.
Meanwhile Mike McConnell who served as the chief of DNI has been nominated to Obama's foreign intelligence advisory board. Speaking on the occasion, Barack Obama said that the US needs to deploy and balance all element of power including military, diplomacy, homeland security, economic might, and moral suasion in order to have a successful and sustainable national security strategy. He added that efficient and good intelligence work is necessary to take forward all these endeavors.
While introducing the final members of his security team, Obama said that his choice of Blair and Panetta is right and he is confident that both the officers will play their part efficiently to advance the work of intelligence communities. Eulogisng the new members, Obama said that all the members have enough efficiency and experience to protect the country in dangerous times. Apart from introducing the new members of his security team, Obama also addressed a new employment report.
