In order to combat terrorism in Pakistan and Afghanistan, the US has decided to form a joint military force with them. According to US official, talks are on with the government of both Pakistan and Afghanistan regarding the formation of joint military force. Appreciating the move, Afghan defense minister, Abdul Rahim Wardak said that since terrorism does not have any border or boundary it is difficult to fight them alone. Therefore the joint military force will include the forces of Pakistan, Afghanistan and US.
According to Robert Wood, the deputy spokesman of US State Department, the US administration has been seriously thinking about forming a joint military force for quite some time now. It will soon come out with a substantial result after analyzing all the aspects of this matter. Meanwhile the officials of the three countries met in the month of August 2008 and the discussion for the creation of joint military force to counter insurgency began there.
The new plan to create a joint military force would definitely help the cause of combating global terrorism. The skill and experience of US army combined with that of the Pakistani and Afghan armies is surely going to restrict terrorism in the volatile south Asian nations. The Afghan defense minister is very hopeful of the formation of such a force. It will definitely be helpful to Afghanistan to tackle terrorism with aid from Pakistan army, he further added.
