The USA on Thursday said that it is hopeful that the Indo-US civil nuclear deal will come through during the administration of President George W Bush. It also said that USA's relationship with India doesn't stand on a single issue. Under Secretary for International Affairs in the US Treasury Department, David McCormick, said that that Indo-US agenda is far beyond the Bush administration and can't get affected by a single event.
It is to be noted that the presidential election of USA is underway and will be completed by this year. The nuclear deal is opposed by the Left Parties in India who support the UPA government from outside. The Left Parties play a crucial role in the working of the government. India is very close to confirm the deal with the US.
Mr. McCormick also said that the nuclear deal has support in the USA and its time for both the countries to look forward. However, while addressing on environmental issues he said that the growing economies of the world also need to play their role to prevent global warming. Earlier, President Bush had said that India and China can't be given the liberty in emission norms on the pretext of their growing economies. McCormick said that the whole world must gear up against global warming.
