Renowned author Michael Crichton passed away in Los Angeles after suffering from cancer. The 66-year-old author achieved massive success by offering best-selling science fiction adventures like 'Jurassic Park' and 'The Andromeda Strain'. The books written by this immensely creative writer led to produce innumerable Hollywood blockbusters. Among them Jurassic Park, Rising Sun and Disclosure became house hold names. Movies like the Great Train Robbery and Twister are supposed to bear writer's own contributions.
Besides fiction and films, Michael Crichton was a popular name in the television industry. Popular TV hospital series ER was his creation. The TV series has also managed to bag an award as it got huge TRP all over the world. The science fiction 'The Andromeda Strain' by Crichton deals with the battle between US scientist and alien virus from outer space. Crichton's Jurassic Park became one of the major hits in Hollywood in 1993.
According to a family source of the dead author, the story telling capability of Crichton was outstanding as he could entertain all sorts of listeners through his stories. Born on October 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, Crichton became a professor in Cambridge University, England after attaining his degree in Anthropology from Harvard University. His writing skills developed while studying medicine in US. Crichton was one of the rare authors to be honored by US President George W Bush at the White House.
