The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is conducting both National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy Examinations on April 20 at 41 centers all over the country. The NDA and Naval Academy exam is held twice a year. The next exam is scheduled for August 17, 2008.
Candidates selected in the NDA and Naval Academy 2008 exam will be admitted to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA for 122nd course and Naval Academy for 42nd 10+2 (executive branch) course commencing from June 30, 2009.
The National Defence Academy is the first point of entry for a permanent commission. The selection process of NDA is in three phases - written exam by UPSC, Service Selection Board interview (intelligence and personality test) to assess a candidate's officer-like qualities and a medical exam by a Service Medical Board.
