Vijay Mallya’s liquor firm United Breweries has registered a net profit of Rs.47.2 crore for the second quarter of 2009-10 fiscal ended on Sep 30 which is about 70% up from the net profit registered during the second quarter last fiscal.
The gross margin revenue of the firm has witnessed an increase of 200 basis points.
The company, which is planning to expand capacities in key markets, said its new greenfield brewery in Andhra Pradesh will be operational ahead of the summer season, while land acquisition for another greenfield brewery in Karnataka had been completed.
