Union Bank of India has won Rajbhasha Shield Competition for the year 2006-07. The award was introduced Reserve Bank of India for promotion of national language Hindi in public sector banks and other financial institutes run by government of India.

 

Union Bank of India is considered one of the prestigious banks, was selected for two awards for its excellent performance in linguistic regions `A' and `B.' Executive director of the bank R S Reddy received the award on behalf of the entity.

 

The glittering function held in the premises of Reserve Bank of India showed up RBI chief, Dr YV Reddy. Dr Reddy later on awarded RS Reddy of Union Bank in the ceremony. A press conference too was held for the purpose of informing media about the honoring of the Union Bank.
