The UN General Assembly on Tuesday criticized the military’s rebellion that expelled the Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, saying that the event has caused interruption in the democratic and constitutional order in the Central American nation.
Zelaya was present in the 192-nation assembly when the body adopted a resolution for condemning the Sunday's rebellion. The resolution also denied recognition of the new government which has Roberto Miceletti as the President.
Zelaya sat in the seats reserved for Honduras' mission to the United Nations in the assembly.
The resolution recognizes Zelaya as the constitutional president of Honduras and asked that he be allowed to finish the term.
