Britain’s wireless carrier O2 has revealed on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 that it would offer Apple’s latest iPhone for free with some of its plans. O2 customers who choose service plans costing either $88 or $146.50 a month would get the newest version of the smartphone at no additional cost. Steve Job, CEO of Apple Inc introduced the iPhone 3G at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco on Monday.
The UK wireless carrier O2 plans to offer the device at no charge for companies on a 24 or 36 month contract. O2 intends to start offering the iPhone from July 11, which is the release date set by Apple. Ronan Dunne, chief executive of O2 in the United Kingdom remarked that iPhone quickly became the fastest selling device ever and with the new pricing, iPhone 3G is an unbeatable proposition.
