The script for Udaan was ready back in the year 2003, but it just took so many years to take the movie off the ground. The movie is directed by debutant director Vikramaditya Motwane.

A tumultuous father-son relationship is the basis of the story of Friday releasing ‘Udaan’. The movie is influenced from real time incidents; it also introduces debutant director Vikramaditya Motwane to the Bollywood. The movie is co-produced by Anurag Kashyap, Sanjay Singh and UTV.

The movie stars 17 years old Rajat Barmecha, Ronit Roy and Ram Kapoor, it is a small budget film which talks about the stressful father-son relationship. In fact, the movie will extend the message given by the super-hit movie, ‘3 Idiots’.

Anurag Kashyap adds, “What 3 Idiots has said, this film will take that forward. The perception of people is changing in society. Udaan has a good story to tell.”

The story is set in Jamshedpur where Rajat is showcased as a teenage boy, who has been residing in a boarding school for the past 8 years. When he returns home, he founds a bossy father and a younger brother, whose existence was never known to him.

The father makes his son forcibly work in his steel factory and also makes Rajat study engineering against his wishes. In a state of frustration and passion to achieve his dreams, Rajat runs away from the house to become a writer.

The movie is releasing the coming Friday and it is assumed to bag quite a good deal at the box office.
