Government-run UCO Bank has reported a net profit of Rs 207.72 crore for the Q2 of 2009-10 fiscal, which ended on Sep 30. This is 38.4% up from the net profit recorded during 2008-09 fiscal.
The UCO bank had reported a net profit of Rs 150.09 crore during the corresponding period last fiscal.
Total income has surged to Rs 2,609.82 crore at the end of the September quarter, when compared to the Rs 2,187.98 crore during the Q2 of 2008-09.
During the quarter, the bank's interest income grew by 19.59% to Rs 2,384.23 crore, while the interest expenditure stood at Rs 1,858.76 crore, up 17.47% over the previous fiscal.
