Popular social networking site, Twitter has added a ‘Report as spam’ feature to fight the growing spams over the internet.
A company spokesman said, "Folks can now help us conquer spam by calling our attention to a profile they find questionable."
He also said, "Click the 'Report as spam' button under the Actions section of a profile's sidebar and our Trust and Safety team will check it out to see what needs to be done."
According to Twitter sources, the new feature will act as a defence for online hacking of data. They also said that no automated action will be taken as a result of reporting a user as spam, but the user has to click the button so that the profile will be automatically blocked.
Though it is an uphill task to combat the spamming, but the feature will be fairly helpful in limiting that going further.
