The terror attack in Mumbai has forced the organisers of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament to postpone it. According to a statement released to media, the current step to postpone the tournament was taken due to security fears following the terror attack. The Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament was supposed to be played in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai from Dec 3-10. The inaugural edition of the tournament was likely to be participated by teams from England, Australia, Pakistan, South Africa and India.
However, the organizers assured to come up with fresh dates by next month. Founded by cricketing nations like India, Australia and South Africa, the Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament was supposed to feature eight teams from five countries for the prize money of $6 million. Reports further claimed that the respective boards of participating teams from England, South Africa and Australia have cancelled the plans of sending the players to India owing to Mumbai terror attack.
Apart from it, the ongoing India-England one-day series has also been called off following the attack. Meanwhile, before the announcement of postponing the Champions League Twenty20 tournament, an official of Pakistan board conveyed the message that they are ready to send their team led by national captain Shoaib Malik.
