The Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan is likely to come on a 4-day India visit on November 20, 2008. India will get a visit from any Turkish prime minister after a gap of two decades. Erdogan's visit to India is supposed to open up slew of opportunities for both the countries to go for various economic and political tie-ups. During his India-visit, the Turkish prime minister will hold talks with his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Both the leaders will discuss on a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues. The issues of terrorism and global financial crisis will also be discussed in the high level meeting. Manmohan Singh and Recep Tayyip Erdogan are likely to focus on the role of emerging economies in addressing issues relating to the ongoing global financial meltdown. The leaders of the two nations will plan out means to regenerate the international financial institutions.
Apart from meeting the Indian prime minister, Erdogan will also hold talks with top Indian business leaders and motivate them to raise investment in Turkey. Both the prime ministers had met each other in last week's G20 summit of developed and developing countries on the financial crisis in Washington. The Turkish prime minister will also visit Agra and Bangalore during his India stint.
