Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Soha Ali Khan
Direction: Kunal Deshmukh
Kunal Deshmukh has returned after ‘Jannat’, in which also he had cast Emraan Hashmi. This time Kunal has chosen a subject which revolves around the mercurial relationship between a struggler and a rich muse.
The movie is all about a struggling painter, Emraan, who falls for the rich muse, Soha, but only to split in Cape Town. But call it fate or whatever, they run into each other during Mumbai monsoons, after which the story moves on depict the different shades of passion, emotions and a unavoidable reunion, even if you like it or not.
The couple weathers the catastrophe together and have their old ties reunited, much to their surprise.
Emraan, who have been managing his coarse definition of the edgy boy-next-door, has given out a brilliant performance. Soha has also essayed the character very realistically, proving that she has inherited the acting skills and potential from her mother, Sharmila. The chemistry between Soha and Emraan is also lovely.
Also, the sequences of the downpour seem to add to the whole effect.
Pritam has done a good job with the music, with all the songs being very nice and emotional.
The dialogues are very real and succinct, yet very little. The entire movie has been expressed by means on non-verbal communications, especially facial expressions.
In short, the movie is a good ‘fireplace’ for this winter.
