Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is busy with the US Presidential race, is now facing political imbroglio in New York where the black leaders state that her status has plummeted due to racial comments made by her and her husband Bill Clinton during the campaign recently. The officers and clerics of African American origin based in New York have commented that Hillary Clinton will first have to clear the resentment over the campaign's racial overtones if she returns to New York as U.S. senator.

 

Bill Perkins, who is the state senator representing Harlem informed that people recently asked him if they could protest outside the Harlem office of the former US President, Bill Clinton because of certain comments made by him. State assemblyman, Michael Benjamin who represents parts of the Bronx has divulged that his wife removed a picture of Bill Clinton from her office. He said this indicated the reservations some New Yorkers harbored against them.  

 

Brooklyn’s Assemblyman Karim Camara looked upto Bill Clinton as a political hero and even donated $500 in 2006 for Hillary Clinton’s reelection campaign. But he too stated referring to Hillary Clinton that after the campaign got over, there will be a lot of wounds to heal. Camara underscores there simply would not have been a Clinton presidency in 1992 had the African American community not co-operated. Though many of the officials support black leader Barack Obama, they claim that they have long backed the Clintons.
