The 2,985mm long and 1,500mm high small car iQ will be fully revealed at Paris Auto Show to be held in the month of October. The journey of iQ started in 2007 at the Frankfurt show, there it was shown as a concept car. Later on, this year in March, Toyota showed its production version at Geneva Salon. Auto enthusiasts already know about the looks of iQ, but its technical details are awaited.

However, according to Toyota sources the iQ has been designed to meet five-star Euro NCAP crash test safety standards. People are awaiting iQ, which the Japanese auto major had promised that it will have options of two petrol engines and one diesel. Apparently, the company would be able to produce the car late this year. Initially, it will produce nearly 100,000 units.

On the other hand Toyota source reveals that the new micro car would be available for sale depending on the market situation. However, chances are that it would be available later this year or in early 2009. The micro car according to auto reviewers is a bit larger than Mercedes’ Smart Fortwo. Toyota positively expressed that with 2,000mm wheelbase and smart interior packaging the car would be able to accommodate three adults+ a child or luggage.
