The new Blackberry smartphone 'Blackberry Storm' is all set to make its debut this autumn. This was announced by Research In Motion (RIM) on October 8, 2008. The company said that its new touch-screen model will be available to limited subscribers including Verizon Wireless subscribers in the U.S. and Vodafone subscribers in Europe, India, Australia and New Zealand.
According to company officials, the new Blackberry Storm has a clickable interface which is truly an engineering genius. The new smartphone incorporates 3.2 megapixel camera with preloaded software for e-mailing and document management. It also possesses media player for music, movies and photos. Earlier before the release of Blackberry Storm, Verizon Wireless had mentioned about arrival of the same.
The company is hopeful that the new model will do substantial business as it is aimed at broad retail market. Many critics opine that since RIM is trying to enter into broader consumer market, it will face tough competition from other hand set manufactures. But owing to its massive subscriber growth, the company is not concerned about such issues. The exact date of release of the smartphone has been declared by RIM.
