Tony Roberts bounced back from his seizure by treading the boards for the opening night of Broadway play The Royal Family on Thursday (08Oct09).
The Annie Hall star fell ill during a preview show of the revival of the classic production, and was rushed to a nearby hospital in New York.
His daughter later confirmed he had suffered a minor seizure, but that her father was desperate to be well enough for the show's opening.
And Roberts stuck to his promise - he performed in front of a packed house on Thursday, when the cast won a standing ovation from the audience.
