Tintin Speaks In Hindi After 80 Years
The famous comic book Tintin will now be accessible for Hindi readers as eight of the Tintin books will be coming out in Hindi.
However, the character’s names would differ. The lead character Tintin’s name remains same. But, his dog named Snowy would be introduced as Natkhat and Thomson and Thompson would be called Santu and Bantu.
Translator of the comics, Puneet Gupta said, "The adventures of Tintin are one of the best comics in the world and I'm glad that having the books in Hindi makes them available to a wider range of readers."
Tintin was started by Herge about eighty years back and it has already been translated into 58 different languages. It was originally in French and now after eight decades Tintin will even speak in Hindi.
Ambassador of Belgium, Jean M Deboutte said, “Tintin in Belgium is more than a cartoon character. He is truly part of our national cultural heritage. Everybody in Belgium knows Tintin -children as much as their parents. For many Belgians, Tintin albums have often been their first gateway to the world, discovering new people, new countries, new environments, and made them develop a taste for adventure and discovery. Thanks to the wonderful translation in Hindi, we are proud that many more people will now be able to enjoy Tintin albums the same way."
