Chinese President Hu Jintao said on Saturday that Tibet is an internal affair of China. He also said that the unrest in Tibet is a threat to Chinese sovereignty. It is to be noted that in the past few days several world leaders have asked China to peacefully settle the Tibet Crisis. The US strongly criticized the Chinese crackdown on peaceful Tibet protestors.

 

In a speech in the Boao Forum for Asia Jintao said that China itself believes in the policy of non intervention in the internal affair of other country and doesn't impose its will on others. The Olympic Torch Relay in various parts of the world has faced strong protests and the protests have angered Beijing.

 

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu also said earlier that the US- Tibet resolution is interference in the internal matters of China and has hurt the Chinese people. Hu Jintao is known to tighten his grip on Tibet ever since he became the President in 2003.
