If you want to know about Tibet, its culture, people, history and so on, then do attend the Third Tibetan Film Festival being held at the India International Centre (IIC) in Delhi. Organized by the Foundation for Universal Responsibility for His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, the Third Tibetan Film Festival is a five-day long event that kick started on July 5. A nearly hour-long film directed by Mark Elliot on the life of 16th Gyalwa Karmapa titled 'The Lion's Roar' was the very first one to be screened.

 

'Travellers and Magicians', 'Tintin in Tibet', 'Spirit of Tibet: Journey to Enlightenment', 'Mystic Tibet: An Outer, Inner and Secret Pilgrimage' and the widely-acclaimed 'The Saltmen of Tibet' are some other masterpieces that will get screened on the first day of the Tibetan Film Festival. 

On day two, the film lovers can look forward to seeing movies and documentaries such as ‘A Song for Tibet’ based on the efforts of Dalai Lama and other Tibetans in exile to save their homeland, followed by ‘Windhorse’, 'The Sacred Site: A Pilgrimage to Oracle Lake', 'Kundun', et al. Thupten Tsewang, programme manager of the festival, said, ‘This is our third film festival since December 2007. This is an open festival - we are expecting all kinds of people. Any one who is interested in Tibetan cinema can watch the movies.'
