The mystery laden behind the less known painting from Vincent Van Gogh, painted in the year 1886, called ‘Patch of Grass’ is uncovered. According to some reports published in western media, some European scientists have discovered a hidden painting behind Vincent Van Gogh’s 1887 ‘Patch of Grass’ painting.
The report further says that these scientists used synchrotron radiation induced X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, and found that there is a portrait of a woman in it. The research was carried out by Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and the University of Antwerp in Belgium. The new discovery will help to know more about the painter and his life and his insight.
Interestingly, it has been a popular belief that Van Gogh hid his earlier paintings in later paintings. And, the new study has paved the path for further studies in the paintings of legend painter. Similarly, the new finding has stressed to common belief that many of the painters used their earlier painted spots for further painting, and Von Gogh was one of them.
