Beijing Olympic and Paralympics torch relay theme songs and two volunteer program theme songs were recently unveiled at the Beijing Working People’s Culture Palace. The occasion for the unveiling of the theme songs at ‘Tai Miao’ the Beijing Working People’s Culture Palace was the 100 day countdown to the Olympic Games from Wednesday, April 30, 2008.
The three songs which were chosen the theme songs have been selected from over 80,000 contested songs. ‘Light the passion, share the dream’ is the Olympic torch relay song and has been composed by Chris Baobida and written by Huang Xiaomao. The song symbolizes that people led by the Olympic flame light will be united to realize their dreams of peace, friendship, hope and harmony.
Another theme song which has been chosen for the volunteer program, is ‘I am a star’ and has been created by famous Hong Kong duo music composers Emil Chau and Lam Jik. The second volunteer theme song ‘Smile Beijing’ has been created by Chen Ying, who works for the Beijing Olympics Volunteer committee.
