The Live Earth India concert, scheduled to be held in Mumbai on Sunday (December 07), has been canceled because of deadly attacks on the city that killed over 200 innocent people.

In a statement, posted on the website “http://liveearth.org/india”, the organizers said that everyone involved with Live Earth India was stunned and saddened by the tragic events of the past few days in Mumbai. Due to circumstances far beyond control, the organization announced that Live Earth “India has been canceled”.

The environmentally themed concert series, founded last year by the producer Kevin Wall and supported by former Vice President Al Gore, had planned a show at Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai. The stage-show was to feature a whole host of Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, his son and daughter-in-law, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachhan, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Bipasha Basu, Shiamak Davar, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Hard Kaur, Jalebee Cartel, Vishal & Shekhar, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam and Shaan and musician Anoushka Shankar.
