Tesco has planned to come out with a new laptop, the Linx N700 to cater the requirements of the customers who cannot afford the £529 Samsung Galaxy Tab and the £429 Dell Streak tablets.

Accordingly, the company has cut the price of the device to £299 with a discount of £50. Apart from that, free delivery option is also promised by the company.

The N700 is based on the Android OS. However, it dosen’t have a 1024x600 pixels screen like the Galaxy Tab.

The tablet sports a 7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen along with features like a 600Mhz Qualcomm MSM7227, 3G and phone capabilities, a front VGA camera, a rear 3MP camera, 512MB RAM and 4GB ROM.

Apart from that, the set incorporates GPS, a microUSB port, Wi-Fi, a microSD card slot and Google Marketplace. One thing we miss here is the absence of third party application store in the set.

The N700 provides up to 30 hours of music playback or up to 5 hours of video playback. So, the device is competitive enough to find a space in tablet market.
