The clash between the lawyers turned very much violent on Wednesday and killed at least ten people. Cars and offices were burnt in the various parts of the city. Supporters of Musharraf were protesting against the assault on a cabinet minister on Tuesday by the attorneys.

A former government minister, Sher Afgan Niazi, had been assaulted by the mob. When lawyers of MQM, a regional party were rallying in favor of Mr Niazi, they were attacked by other lawyers from other parties. MQM supporters burnt cars, offices and other public properties. Rioters also set lawyer's chamber on fire killing six people.

Public transport remained off the road and many petrol stations are also closed. The situation is very tense as previous years too, clashes have broken out between MQM and other parties. Business has also been thrown off track and the police said that the people who were burnt to death included a woman. There have been large crowd gatherings in bus stops. All the parties are accusing each other and so it is difficult to know what exactly happened in Wednesday's violence.
