With a view to consolidate the information technology infrastructure, India-based Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has opened a global delivery centre in Tianjin, China. There are three more delivery centres in Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou apart from TCS new one. The main function of the 300-seat delivery centre will be to provide assistance to the BPOs of Japanese, US and European markets. Apart from it, TCS will also offer its support to the local business opportunities.
 
TCS has also established similar delivery centre in Shenzhen, China. The company found that there are lots of growth prospects in the booming South China market. According to TCS Executive Vice-President and Head, Asia-Pacific Operations, Girija Pande both Tianjin and Shenzhen facilities will improve the portfolio of the company as well strengthen company's international presence. The company is supposed to incur profits by tapping the local talent pools.
 
The setting up of global delivery centers in China will enable TCS to manage its international operations in Japan, the US and Europe as well as serve the local markets. The newly opened Tianjin facility will also offer extended service to Microsoft, Oracle and SAP to meet the unique technology needs of customers.
