TCS has entered into a joint venture with Swedish company SAAB (Svenska Aeroplan AB) for the development of Aeronautical Design and Development Center (ADDC) in the country. A report published on TCS behalf says that the partnership is meant to deal the global aeronautical market. SAAB earlier was in airplane manufacturing later on diversified itself in automobile production.
The TCS release established that ADDC will create a single source of design and development capabilities within India. It will address domestic and the global defense and civil aeronautical applications. Ake Svensson, CEO of SAAB said that the co-operation is not limited to any specific product but is aimed towards building a joint capability to leverage collective strengths across the globe.
S Ramadorai, CEO TCS said the partnership has a strong blend of SAAB's technology solutions and TCS global engineering model to address the growing opportunities in the aerospace and defense sector. The ADDC capabilities include design and development of structures/systems for new platforms, life extension/upgrade programs, performance studies and virtual prototyping, engineering, manufacturing support, production and after market support.
