Tata Steel Ltd, which is a part of Tata group, has disclosed on Monday that the sales of the steel manufactured by the company have witnessed a growth of 25% during the month of August. 09. The total sales for the month of August stood at 492,000 tonnes in August.
Tata Steel occupies the eighth position in the world in terms of the steel output.
The Indian operations of Tata Steel contribute 25% of its net annual global capacity, which stands at 30 million tonnes. The other contributor of its global capacity is Corus, which is the second largest steel manufacturer in Europe.
This growth of sales was witnessed after there was a surge of 81% in the sales of long products, which are used for construction purposes, since last year.
Saleable steel production in August rose by 14% from a year earlier to 526,000 tonnes, the company said in a statement.
