Tata Power has logged in a net profit of Rs.182.1 crore for the second quarter of the 2009-10 fiscal which ended on Sep 30, registering a dip by 28% from the Rs.252.9 crore it had registered during the corresponding period last fiscal.
The net sales of the firm has witnessed a decline by 12% to be logged at Rs.1,721.1 crore as against the Rs.1,958.9 crore logged during the corresponding period last fiscal. The sales of the firm witnessed a decline due to the reduction in low fuel prices.
Total income also fell by 16.3% to Rs.1,796.6 crore in the second quarter from Rs.2,147.3 crore a year earlier.
