Following the down in sale of Nano for the second consecutive month, Tata Motors is reportedly into upgrading the Nano version in an attempt to make it more appealing by January 2011.

According to sources, the company will include a five speed gear box, adjustable seats, chic interiors, better fuel efficiency, power-steering and among others. The upgraded version of Tata Nano is likely to be unveiled in January 2011.

Tata Motors, however, shied away from directly making any remarks on the matter. The company was quoted as saying, “It is Tata Motors’ practice to continuously add new features to its cars. As and when any feature is added, we will make necessary announcements,” a close source was quoted as saying.

Besides, it is also being reported that Tata Motors is conducting test drives in Gujarat.

Recently, it was being reported that Tata could join hands with global management and technology consulting firm, Accenture for availing professional help. The world’s cheapest car will come with competitive price to compete with its rivals in the small car segment.
