Tata launched the electric version of the Nano at the international motor show at Geneva today. Called the Tata Nano Electric Vehicle, the car joins the likes of the Indica Vista electric vehicle that is already set to launch in European markets soon.

The Nano EV will use super polymer lithium ion batteries which will propel it to a speed of 60km/h from start in under 10 seconds. The battery is rumoured to give the car a range of upto 160km. It will seat four fully grown adults and may very well give other electric vehicles that are selling in the European markets a run for their money.

The other Tata vehicles that made it to the show are the Indica Vista EV, the Aria, the Indigo Manza and the Xenon. The Aria already made its debut at the Delhi Auto Expo alongside the Indigo Manza sedan and the Xenon double car pick-up. The Aria is a mid-range four-wheel drive Multi Purpose Vehicle
