Tata Motors has launched its new passenger vehicle called Magic Iris in Jaipur. The vehicle was showcased at New Delhi Auto Expo 2010.

This is a BS III compliant vehicle that runs on 611cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine and incorporates a 10-liter fuel tank. The vehicle can run at top speed of 55kmph.

The Magic Iris is designed to improve the quality of transportation for the passengers. However, it is available in some select cities only that have BS III norms now.

The vehicle supports five adults including driver and the roof is made of sheet metal for optimum safety. It also features clear lens headlamps and tail lights. There is no door on the right hand side leading into the passenger area. The magic offers a comfortable and less noisy ride too.

“The Tata Magic Iris is for public transportation, offering safer and more comfortable mobility for those who depend on three-wheelers. Its spacious car-like cabin can comfortably seat four passengers – three at the back and one in the front beside the driver. With its car-like on-road stability and sheet metal roof it provides car-like safety,” said a company official.

The Magic Iris is available at a price of Rs 1.98 lakh. And most probably, the passenger vehicle will strike a chord with Indian mass due to its range of features.
